Embedded Consultants, LLC,

President/Owner/Chief Computer Engineer1998 to present:  

·         Consult clients and designed/developed numerous Embedded System Products - including he component level design of microprocessor based user interface / front panels for production under development by the customer.

·         Developed the Millennium MACS Satellite Industry Monitor and Control System, a joint venture software product of Embedded Consulants and DataPath.  It has now been installed in over forty US military sites (including Germany, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and UAE).

·         Managed multiple subcontractor personnel in software development.

Performed "in-field" (domestic and foreign / middle east) installations of the Monitor and Control System, integrating with existing systems.

Active Dod Secret Clearance.

·        Clients include: DataPath, ILX Lightwave, CCA and RSI. 

Computone Corporation

Senior Software Engineer            1997 to 1998:   

·         Developed software for a new product based on the MIPS family of microprocessor. Authored startup code in MIPS family assembly language and a Compact PCI BIOS for this product. 

·         Designed an inexpensive 921.6Kbps, ISA "Plug 'n' Play" High Speed Serial Card.  Designed the hardware as well as wrote factory manufacturing and test software for the card.  Managed the card through FCC Class B certification and a full CE Mark verification.

COMSAT RSI (formerly Radiation Systems, Inc.)

Controls Engineer                      1992 to 1997: 

·         Successfully passed a SSBI (Single Scope Background Investigation) and obtained a "Special Access" and a DoD Top Secret Clearance.

·         Managed and developed the hardware and software for a dual 1:N up/down converter protection switch.

·         Managed the development of the hardware and software for a two rack unit quad 1:1 (U/C, D/C, HPA, and LNA) microprocessor based protection switch with graphical display. 

·         Assisted in the development and support of an Antenna Control Unit for mobile applications. 

·         Developed several device drivers for Radiation System's M&C system.

Senior Design Engineer 1991-1992: 

·         Designed custom software, component level digital/analog hardware, system level (control system) to customer specifications.

·         Authored documentation and proposals. 

·         Participated in field installation of complete monitor and control systems globally.

·         Duties included, customer training, sight surveys, project management, and customer interface


           Texas Instruments Electro Optics System

            Electrical Engineer         1987-1989:

Designed new production test equipment, maintained existing equipment, and reviewed product specifications, and performed failure rate calculations/predictions.

 

AEC Automation            1986: 

Performed component level digital and analog design as well as

component level board repair.


Skills

Software design experience:

·         C and C++ (over sixteen years C experience producing DOS and "ROMable" code). 

·         MS Windows applications in Visual BASIC and Borland C. 

·         Can also program in Pascal, BASIC (over twenty one years experience), forth, FORTRAN, LISP, also MIPS family, 8086 family, 8051 family, 68HC11 family, Z80/8080, and 6502 assembly languages.  Proficient in HTML.  Have used CUPL, PALASM, and ABEL PLD compilers as well as XILINX FPGA compiler.

·         Designed a Satellite Industry Monitor and Control (M&C) System. 

·         Designed a small operating system written in C. 

·         Authored numerous device drivers.

·         PCI Bus Plug and Play implementation 

·         Working expertise with MS-DOS/PC-DOS/ROM-DOS, OS/2, and MS Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98/ME, and Windows NT/2000/XP operating systems.

Hardware design experience includes:
